Discovering the charm of The House Now
Welcome to the present state of The Big Red House, where history meets contemporary comfort. Explore how we've carefully blended old-world elegance with modern living.

A graceful blend of old and new
The Big Red House now stands as a testament to thoughtful renovation, harmoniously blending its historic character with modern comforts. The main house, rich in old-world charms, has been revitalized with soft grey wool carpet and serene sage green walls, creating a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere. The kitchen, has been modernized while retaining its unique heritage. The tall cabinets you see were specially built for that space by an 80 year old master wood-worker who cut the tree and hand-finished every stage of this project.

Respecting history, embracing today
The transformation journey meticulously preserved the essence of the house. From the striking blue pine walls in the kitchen to the decades-old wood cabinets and the original molding around the door frames, every detail tells a story. The result is a gracious older lady, now equipped with all the modern conveniences you'd expect, offering a unique living experience that honors its past while embracing its future.

Minor details for a perfect finish
While the main house is in move-in condition, we believe in full transparency. A few minor, and a few major, items await your personal touch: a light switch or two need connection, the beautiful blue tile countertop in the kitchen could use replacing, as do the microwave and vent. Additionally, the deck, accessible from both the laundry room and living room, shows some wear with its paint from last summer. The biggest challenge is finishing the electrical wiring. These, and other, unmentioned, opportunities allow you to add your unique mark to this already charming home. Armed with a building inspector's report and your dreams, you can plan and prioritize to make the most of this house.
